What We Offer – Firearms Training for Self-Defense
First Time Shooters (Learning the basics of pistol shooting).
Bring your own handgun or rent ours. This option allows you to try different models and calibers to see what fits you best (guns are not one size fits all). Additionally, we can provide ear and eye protection or you can bring your own. Understand how a firearms works and gain confidence shooting a pistol.
Advanced Shooting Skills for Self-Defense (shooting and moving, drawing from the holster, kneeling/prone positions while shooting). Specific shooting drills will be utilized to build skill sets that are needed for self-defense situations.
Women's Only Training for Shooting • Situational Awareness and Mindset • Threat Recognition and Avoidance • Learning Through Scenerio Based Discussions
Many women prefer one-on-one instruction from a female trainer. At Mid-Minnesota Self-Defense, we understand this need. There is good reason why men and women should be trained differently in firearms. The truth is men and women are equal in terms of the ability and physical skills needed to learn to shoot. The differentiator is women tend to be more coachable. They are more open-minded, listen better, have fewer preconceived notions and their egos don’t get in the way as much. Women love to build one another up and enjoy growing, learning and experiencing together.
Most women have a different learning style vs their male counterpart. This makes women's only training invaluable. A female may be intimidated by co-ed training classes for firearms. Often times, what women fear most is the gun itself. Once they understand how it operates safely and achieve skills that allow them to fire it efficiently, women become more confident through the knowledge of how to shoot a gun. Female gun ownership is rising as more women choose to take responsibility for their own safety.
Gain confidence in your ability to shoot a pistol in a women's only setting that is relaxed, comfortable, educational and supportive.
Perhaps you just want some open shooting time at the range (indoor or outdoor) to improve your shooting skills – let's schedule a date/time! Reach out with any questions you may have or to discuss more about how we can help with your self-defense firearms training. Send a message to Mid-Minnesota Self Defense
